JJHS One Act Play (OAP)

OAP Brings home 1st

On Saturday, December 12, our JJHS One Act Play team participated in their UIL Contest at New Diana High School. These kids have practiced 2-3 days a week every week since September getting ready for this competition. Our play was “Kamikaze Kate and the sword of Captain Kuroda” and is based on the life of a teenage girl who collects World War II relics. Her grandfather has recently given her a Japanese Samurai Sword and the owner of the sword has followed it to her house and is haunting her bedroom wanting his sword back. The kids worked very hard to learn all of their lines and the stage directions to go with them. Our crew worked extremely hard to learn when to change scenes, how to set the stage and manage our lighting situations. These kids really put forth their very best effort and came home with a lot of awards.
